The Medoc is a very special kind of marathon (
Pauillac, France, September 10-12), where any runner is welcome and where the first and the last are honoured in the same way.
Combining special interests and activities in a manner which gets total approval from the Activity Holidays Guide team, over-indulgence is its own reward since, on the eve of the race, Pauillac Rugby Club hosts a party with dancing by the quayside and
both the first and the last runner to pass the finishing line wins their own weight in fine wines. September 12 sees a wine tasting circuit of the area by mountain bike.
