The Campaign for Drawing;
Drawing Power has a simple but ambitious aim - to get everyone drawing. It is a campaign with many notable artists as patrons and was initiated in 2000 by The Guild of St George, a small charity founded by John Ruskin, the great British, Victorian artist, writer and visionary.
Ruskin saw drawing as the foundation of visual thought. His mission was not to teach people how to draw, but how to see.
A feature of the campaign is the
Big Draw and the fifth Big Draw runs from 13-20 October 2004 in the UK, with most events taking place on Saturday 16, although any drawing related event in October can be registered as part of
The Big Draw programme.
