Busy Time for WetAssers

It's a busy time of year on England's south coast for WetAssers.
Weymouth Speed Week 2004 - 2nd October to 8th October is now underway.

There are two records to be broken.

Portland sailing speed record of 36 knots set by Crossbow in 1980
(at Speed Week 2000 37 knots was achieved on a 318 metre course).

The World Record from the current official absolute sailing speed record of 46.42 knots set by Yellow Pages Endeavour in Australia in 1993. Ref. World Sailing Speed Record Council.

Watch out for the kitesurfers who will move across to Hayling Island at the end of the week for the British Kitesurfing Association Championships. Current speed record holders for Kitesurfing (kitesailing) are Emmanuel Taub, at Leucate, France on the 13th April 2004, who achieved 39.79 kts and for women, Charlotte Consorti, also at Leucate on the 13th April 2004, who achieved 33.24 kts.
