Our Man in Hanoi is a Geordie in Vietnam, working as a fund raiser for KOTO.
KOTO, is a unique vocational training program based in Hanoi, providing hope to street children and disadvantaged youth in Vietnam. It is run by Australian charity, Street Voices and they are planning a new home for KOTO.
To raise the $80,000 needed to finance the project, a number of fund raising schemes are being developed, including a scheme whereby people can buy bricks in the new building at $50 each.
Buy a brick now, email Our Man in Hanoi (ourmaninhanoi@gmail.com ).
Besides selling bricks, OMIH is a good source of information about Hanoi, cycling and backpacking; there is even talk of a Backpacker's Ball. If anyone is visiting Hanoi, I am sure that he won't mind anyone contacting him in exchange for a small donation.
Interesting world. Its not so long ago that Uncle Sam and friends were bombing the hell out of the place; something to do with national security wasn't it?
