Following on from the last posting which extolled the virtues of Italian wine, raise a glass to Italian Valentino Rossi who has just won the
Australian MotoGP at
Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia and therefore his fourth successive world motorcycling championship.
Many are proclaiming the 25 year old, whose father Grazzione was also a leading rider,
to be the sports greatest ever champion. His titles include 125, 250 and 500 cc classes and this year his fourth straight title win in the 500cc class came after switching teams from Honda to Yamaha.
Rossi's world championship titles are: 1997 (125cc), 1999 (250cc), 2001 (500cc) 2002, 2003, 2004.
