In January, more than 200 of Australia's best cyclists are expected to do battle for recognition as their nation's top riders and to earn the right to wear the coveted white jersey with the green and gold band in all races for the following 12 months.

Returning to South Australia for the first time in almost a decade, the Australian Open Road Championships, 12 to 15 January 2005, will be staged on a picturesque 13km circuit around the charming Adelaide Hills town of Echunga - just 20 minutes from central Adelaide.
