Ellen is powering home and looks like making Falmouth, UK, in time for Pancakes on Tuesday; which means that she will have broken the solo round the world sailing record and it will be champagne and pancakes!

three days ahead of Joyon's pace, high-pressure is forecast to block her path and the ocean still presents plenty of hazards; yesterday she narrowly avoided collision with a whale, so don't pop the corks until the finishing line is crossed.
