- Once upon a time...The whole world is joining with Denmark in the celebration of Hans Christian Andersen, when
a special Fairytale Weekend from April 1st to April 3rd, 2005 opens the Hans Christian Andersen 2005 year, marking the bi-centenary of his birth. 
The highlight of the Weekend is on his actual birthday, Saturday night, when members of the Danish royal family, international guests, Hans Christian Andersen Ambassadors and over 40.000 spectators will come together for the big show '
Once upon a time' at the PARKEN Stadium, Denmark.
More than 300 artists; musicians from both pop and classical music, performers and dancers, join one another in a fairytale entertainment show that celebrates Andersen and his magical universe.
There are numerous other events throughout the year, including events outside Denmark.
