The Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, includes the Black Mountains, moorland, forests, valleys, waterfalls, lakes, caves, gorges and now a walk spanning the entire length of the Park.
The 100-mile route, known as the Beacons Way, runs from Abergavenny, through Crickhowell and ends in the village of Bethlehem in Carmarthenshire.
It has been devised by the Brecon Beacons Park Society, in conjunction with the National Park Authority and the first guided walk along the route has been planned for 30 July to 6 August 2005. Walkers are advised that they need to book places as soon as possible, and certainly not later than Monday 12th July; numbers are limited by transport considerations, and demand is likely to be high.
There will be an inclusive fee of £80 per person to cover transport costs and administration but note that this does not include accommodation.
