The
opening match is to be held on 9 June 2006 in the FIFA World Cup Stadium,
Munich; a new, purpose-built football stadium.
And the
final match will be played 9 July 2006 at the famous Olympiastadion,
Berlin; originally built between 1934-36 to house the Olympic Games in 1936, where American sprinter Jesse Owens won four gold medals; re-designed to stage the 2006 World Cup Final.
