For the third year running, a Christmas city is being created in
Luebeck, north Germany.
Ice World is a magical winter dream made of snow and ice in which Ice Sculptures and an Ice-Skating Rink turn the famous backdrop of historic Luebeck into a cracking, crunchy, cold winter, landscape amidst the medieval brick Gothic.
A combination of special lighting and the reflection of snow and ice covers the works of art in a fascinating sea of colours. The sculptures are created from 350,000 kg of ice by a team of international artists and
the festival runs from December 9, 2005 to January 29, 2006.
