The British Open Golf Championship 2006 is to be played on 20 - 23 July, at Hoylake on The Wirral. It will be the 11th Open to be played at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club; the Championship was last held at the course in 1967 when Roberto de Vicenzo beat Jack Nicklaus by two shots.
