Accompanying the sporting events,
Festival Melbourne 2006 will be twelve days of non-stop music, dance, circus, street theatre and visual arts from all the corners of the Commonwealth, the largest free cultural festival ever held in Australia.
The city will be buzzing day and night and the excitement will also reach out across the state, with free regional festivals in Ballarat, Geelong, Moe and Bendigo.
