Kirsty Jones from Wales UK, broke the kitesurfing world distance record by kitesurfing 140 miles, non stop, from Lanzarote to Morocco, in 9 hours.
Four days later, Frenchman, Manu Bertin quietly slipped into Pointe a Pitre, Guadaloupe having
kitesurfed across the Atlantic from Gomera in the Canaries. So I guess that he now claims the record but it is not really comparing like with like because Kirsty achieved her result, standing all the way and using a production 12m Flexifoil Ion Kite with her custom made 'Waves' board.
