It looks as if the waiting will soon be over for the Billabong Pro Tahiti.
Until now the notorious Teahupoo or 'Chopes' has been a whimpering 0.5 metre (one foot) but it looks like a decent swell is on its way for Sunday, although forecasters say waves will probably remain small at Teahupoo up until lunchtime.
A call on competition status will be made at 7am local time Sunday. Tahiti is 10 hours behind GMT, so that is 6pm in the UK where it is British Summer Time and 7pm in Central Europe.
Two live streaming video feeds are being made available one for the
women's event and the other for the
men's event.
