Cowes week has crept up on us; with such a busy year and all the diversion of the soccer world cup, it seems incredible that in just over two weeks time the UK's Solent will again be alive with over 1000 yachts and 8,500 competitors, all taking part in Skandia Cowes Week, 29 July to 5 August, 2006.
The event, which this year celebrates its 180th anniversary, is not just about competition and there is a varied program of shore side activities creating a unique festival atmosphere, culminating in the famous firework party on the last night.
