Much of Europe is experiencing a heatwave and Europeans taking to the sea in an attempt to cool down are facing new hazards.
On Spain's east coast there is a plague of Jellyfish, keeping bathers out of the water and UK surfers, whose biggest hazard is usually the cold, should know that the warm waters have brought with them sharks. Still, you probably stand more chance of being struck by lightning than getting bitten, though the other day, one of our team claims that he got slapped by a fish; he said that it leapt out of the water and slapped him across the face!
