On 23 to 29 September 2006, the long flat beach of Le Touquet, France, will host the 2006 International Sand-Yachting Championship. Le Touquet provides a large and exciting sports ground and its long seaside promenade offers spectators perfect views of the racing.
Around 220 competitors from all over the world will compete and 10 World Championship titles will be at stake. During this event, Le Touquet will also celebrate the jubilee of its Blériot Club which was the first Sand-Yacht Club in France and now has 160 pilots and welcomes 5 000 people for training each year.
