After a frustrating week at Imbituba, Round two of the 2006 Nova Schin Festival has finally been completed. Forecasts indicate strong winds for Monday 7th November but the swell is expected to hold and it is hoped that round three can be completed tomorrow. There is a promising surf forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, which should allow the event to be completed in decent waves.
Kelly Slater decided not to compete at Imbituba due to personal commitments but the other big guns will be in the water when competition resumes with round three, along with a number of guys who need serious results in Brazil to stay in the tour; all in all, it's shaping up for a killer finish to the penultimate event of the Foster's ASP World Tour.
The spectators at the Nova Schin Festival attract as much attention as the surfers.
