Once more, thousands of visitors and artists from around 40 countries have descended on Seeboden, Lake Millstätter See, Carinthia, Austria, for the annual
World Bodypainting Festival.
Besides bodypainting and photographic competitions, there are wide ranging workshops and side events demonstrating bodies painted with many different materials and techniques, and sometimes combined with the most fantastic costumes, masks and show effects. There is a world class music and dance program and for visitors not taking part in the world championships or workshops, the festival organizers arrange an impressive adventure program with biking tours, hikes and sightseeing trips in the surrounding Alps.
The festival, which is regarded as the most important meeting place in the world of bodypainting, runs through to 19 July, 2009.
