Midway between South Carolina and Florida, on the United States, Georgia coast, there is now the
Georgia Sea Turtle Center. The center has an active educational program and during the summer, visitors can schedule nightly beach walks with staffers, to view these fascinating but endangered animals in the wild.
Part of the center also functions as a sea turtle hospital, which rescues and rehabilitates injured sea turtles. Since its opening last June, the Georgia sea turtle center has already treated 17 loggerhead turtles.
