Incredibly, the world famous gardens, with its displays of exotic orchids, wildflowers from across the world and stunning garden designs, are just over one hour from the center of London.

In March over five million bulbs are used to produce the largest spring flower display in the UK, with daffodils and snowdrops nestling in woodland and a stunning carpet of crocuses.

The photograph is of the great pagoda at Kew Gardens and was taken by Philip MacKenzie.

If you plan a visit on Valentine's day, you can treat the special person in your life to the ultimate romantic experience. Tropical Valentine's events offer unlimited champagne and canapes, plus, for those that really mean to impress, a short walk to the eighteenth century Orangery for an intimate dinner for two.
