Today, Prague celebrates the 650th anniversary of the building of the Charles Bridge, one of its most visited tourist attractions. After consulting astrologers, King Charles IV initiated the construction of the bridge at 5:31 am on July 9, 1357.
A 13 year renovation project is planned to begin this year but there will still be tourist access to the pedestrian bridge.
