The International Christmas Market in Geneva, which this year, will take place November 24, through December 24, 2007, is a novel idea whereby the Christmas Market is organized in the shape of a village. Each of the 34 cottages in the village, located at the Place de Fusterie, represents a different country and offers visitors their national Christmas specialities. Hiking and trekking in Switzerland
Here is a great resource for anyone hiking or trekking in Switzerland. Wandersite specialises in information on trekking trails in Switzerland and the border-region. You can choose a hike from their huge list of trails. There are lists of one-day hikes, two-day hikes, winter hikes and a trekking list, which includes more than 100 long distant walks. Each walk includes a summary of distance, walking time, altitude and region. At the end of each description there is additional information, such as maps, hotels, restaurants and links. M. Beyeler took the picture while hiking around the Bäderhorn, Berner Oberland, Switzerland. Labels: Hiking, Switzerland, trekking, walks

Natural Wonderland
Here is a really nice shot of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) in the spring. It was taken by Janet Burgess and shows the magnificent 140 metre high "Jet d'Eau" fountain in the background. But why, you might ask, as Europe heads into winter, have I chosen to post a picture of Lac Leman in springtime. Well the answer will become clear if you take the time to click on this link, to a gallery of photographs that depict an incredible phenomenon whereby nature creates its own winter wonderland.
