Great Turtle Race
I looked up Our Man in Hanoi who is now Our Man in Granada and found that he has made an interesting post about the Great Turtle Race. The turtle race starts in four days time from Costa Rica to the feeding grounds around the Galapagos Islands. You can pick a turtle, which are all tracked by satellite, and follow its progress. The idea of the race is to draw attention to the plight of the Leatherback Turtles which are in a race against time, to head off extinction.
